From philosophy to Social Instinct
Does your life need more love? has been a question that quantifies and keeps the greatest of scientists equip through understanding the knowledge of what love is? and how it interacts with us. Plato described love as a harmony of two or more states: like music, where a deep bass note can appear under the sound of a flute.
Generally, love is approached as the wheel of human experience. It is selfless. It wishes good instead of harm, love can strengthing relationships as seen in children growing up in nurturing loving enviroments.
That’s why art, music, and literature and films are great topics for the communication of love.
Science has its own evolutionary perspective on why love is so important to every day nurturing environments. love links to the chemical relationship between happiness and healthy mindsets – dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin are released through feelings of love. Love is a vital Element of biology that forges bonds with parents, children, partners, and strangers. Love makes us feel secure and stable, powered by the sense we can do anything in life.
Love is a survival instinct – to reproduce, and to tighten the social fabric we rely on to accomplish our goals as a species i.e. surviving and believing in our mental/physical abilities.

Does your life need more love? – The gradual truth of the brain/heart Dynamic
The biology of the heart was first researched by two researchers in the 1970s – John and Beatrice Lacey – were among the first people to directly postulate that the heart can, quite often, tell us what to do. They weren’t testing how the central nervous system gave orders for what we feel; rather, it was the opposite. They thought that the heart might create its own neurological messages.
The Laceys’ work has been taken up by subsequent researchers, including the HeartMath Institute (HMI) based in California. Its founder, Doc Childre, shares my belief that we can eliminate stress, pain and debilitative emotions by understanding what our hearts are telling us.
The principles work like this: studies have shown that the vagus nerves attach from the mind – to the neck, chest and abdomen and heart– is a channel of electric impulses.
The brain is the core of our emotional processing system, The heart is unique because it has its own neural circuitry. Just as the brain contains a web of proteins, ganglia, neurotransmitters and support cells, the beating heart has a very similar system that can send independent signals throughout the body.
It has been long-established that impulses descend from our cortex along the vagus nerves. Yet it is increasingly apparent that there are more ascending channels than descending pathways. In other words, more information is sent up to our brain than down from it. The HMI claims that more of these pathways are linked to the heart than any competing physiological space.
What does this mean for Meditation?
